It all started with a Micra, Debbie the director of Little Rascals was driving down a very busy road when her Nissan Micra broke down, when the recovery driver came, they got talking he found out her passion and her dream to open her own nursery. He told her about a building for sale in Aldridge. After looking she fell in love. Debbie and her partner Alan spent many hours refurbishing and building the first Little Rascals Aldridge in 2004.
Little Rascals Aldridge has seen many families come through their doors, and Debbie carried on researching and trailing different approaches to childcare, whilst passing her knowledge onto the staff who trained at the Nursery.
10 years later. Debbie was confident to open another setting, this was done to meet the growing two-year old need in Wolverhampton. Little Rascals Bilston was created The local authority was impressed by the progression of the children and approached Debbie to open another setting in Darlaston. After finding the building, and a lot of refurbishment (and moving furniture) Little Rascals Darlaston opened its doors, and continues to be a very popular setting in Darlaston
In 2017, the Roots to Growth curriculum was created. Debbie wanted the childcare that she’d created to be second to none, after visiting Reggio Emilia in Italy. The curriculum is based heavily on play based, child led natural learning. The curriculum is their own, and the results of the Roots to growth curriculum have been astounding, the company employs its own curriculum manager to ensure the curriculum is constantly improving.
